PwdGuard patent pending 3SSDL (3 Secure Separate Databases Layers)
PwdGuard has developed a very unique and security system making it much harder for someone to hack your PwdGuard database and get your information. The process works on the theory that 3 separate databases containing parts of your digital information like a password item data record is safer than just one database, especially if both databases are using the highest public encryption (AES256) available.
PwdGuard keeps some standard public information in the first database which may not be completely encrypted. This allows PwdGuard to fetch your data much faster, but still very secure. Other information is like a URL associated with a password item and other index keys like a record number and the categories names. Database 2 and Database 3 have even more security on them, so they are only accessible by VPN and one user, if they are not local. It only allows access bidirectional by a single IP and user with a password. All the other information fields, other than an index key pointer, are encrypted with AES256 with separate keys per password item.
PwdGuard also splits the Password item data record fields into different databases, making it even harder to identify the user. Of course, the username and the password are kept in separate databases and may be in separate locations.
Since PwdGuard uses a Master Password and either a pin code or verifying questions just to access to login in to the App and and a Pin code to show the screen. You also may need a separate Password Item Key code for each item. This makes much harder to login.
This level of protection is much more complete that PwdGuard offers you. With the App the information is very portable been devices and also browser like; Chrome, Safari and Edge browsers because the information is store in the cloud not the localhost devices. Using the browsers is not secure and information does not go with one device to another. It needs to be re-entered. The Browser also seem to get very confused when you change your password and it want to use the old one. This takes up your time.
. You may be safe from the average Joe or kid getting your information, but not from a professional hacker. In the case of professional hackers, you need to do all you can to make it hard on them. We also recommend having anti-virus and malware programs running, as well as a solid firewall.

Also, part of the process is that the user can assign an encryption key code to each Password item making it even more secure. Many other Password Managers only use one key code and of course if you can break the one code you have access to all the items. You must understand that hackers may just take a copy of your database and work on it on his computer for months. That is why the experts say you should change your password at least every six months.
You should also consider that a hacker may not actually steal your information but instead can login to your account and glean information about you and then sell it. In most cases it will happen without you ever knowing it. For example, Google’s Gmail reads your emails and creates a profile about you to be able to give you a better user experience by only showing you certain ads that you are interested in and more. Alexia and other robots report what you ask them. The companies say it’s to give you a better experience but is there more to that? You will most likely never know. The best thing is to protect what you have control of.
