- Evaluate if you can see your information on multiple device platforms like Apple iPhone, Google Android, and Microsoft Windows Desktop
PwdGuard – stores your information in our patent pending process called “3SSDL” (3 Secure Separate Database Layers) which divides your information among three different database and or files using encrypted fields making it very hard to identify whose information it is. A hacker will take the simplest way to gain your information by using a Password Manager App that is easier to hack. Most Password Manager Apps use just one database or file and then store the information either on your local computer’s hard drive or in the cloud. PwdGuard is much more secure
PwdGuard uses Military Grade encryption called “AES256” and offers you the ability to create an encryption key code for each item profile. No one can recover the items you created in the item profile without knowing the encryption key code.
PwdGuard uses very secure encrypted cloud servers with encrypted databases and files to store your encrypted data. These servers have very limited access to them. In some cases. The access is only through one IP and User and password and if the database or file is not local, it’s accessed over a VPN. This makes them very secure. In most cases these servers are in the United States or in counties that have a democracy.
Yes. PwdGuard allows you to import and export a copy of your data. We do not recommend you leave a copy on your local device. Make a backup using a USB thumb drive.
.
Yes. PwdGuard allows you to generate a QR Code Tag which is one of the great features of PwdGuard. This ensures that when sending sensitive information via an email that someone will not be able to see it without having a QR Reader. You are also protected if a hacker searches your email account and comes across an email that has your password information, but they cannot easily view it.
Yes, you may have a different encryption key code for very Password Item.
PwdGuard offers our users a military grade encryption with an encryption key code for each item saved. PwdGuard has a patent pending process called 3SSDL (3 Secure Separate Database Layers). The user’s information is spread across three different secure databases and or files reducing chances of someone hacking into a database or file to gain enough knowledge to get into the user’s account. The user can also send QR Tags with their information ensuring others cannot see the text
Yes. The PwdGuard App has a very unique feature that allows you to create a QR Code Tag of username and password which can be easily shared via email with another work mate or your developer without having concern of someone or a robot reading the email and seeing the text. It requires a phone with a QR Reader. This allows your information to be much harder to read than simple text. In PwdGuard all you do is select Password Item and then Generate QR Code and enter the email address you want to share to and a message and click on the send button
In today’s environment using cloud base servers are much safer and allow the user much more flexibility. You can access the same data on your Windows desktop and at the same time on Android or Apple phone. PwdGuard is managing these through its servers, while monitoring the security of their network all the time. They have also created an environment that makes it harder for the hacker to be successful in hacking your data. They also do daily backups. This makes it much harder for unauthorized people to access any the data. The only real con to is that you must have access to the Internet.
Engineers have been working on so called passwordless sign-ins for a while now. The issue is making them safe, faster, and easy to login but also very secure. In May 2022, Apple, Google, and Microsoft have announced a joint effort to support passwordless sign-ins, with new common passwordless sign-in standards created by Fido and the World Wide Web Consortium. When these companies give everyone a better idea how to apply these standards, PwdGuard will integrate them into PwdGuard App as long as it’s very secure and safe. PwdGuard feels it’s more important to be secure and safe than to have a fast login.
This is for only signing in information and you will still need to enter a pin or fingerprint to login giving it two factor login protection. This may reduce sending and receiving of texts and emails for double factor login. It is also our understanding that your username and password will need to be the same between accounts making it easier to login. It may be easier to login but since itis using only one username and password it’s also easier for a hacker to access.
Of course, you will need a Pin ID (PwdGuard does recommend a single Pin or your fingerprint, which from our understanding only works on a phone or tablet and does not perfectly work every time with current technology.
Information like credit cards, Social Security Card, Bank Pin IDs, Insurance Cards, passports, driver’s license, and other important documents you may save still need to be protected with a Password Manager with good encryption. Time will tell if this new venture produces a more secure system across all devices and platforms. Here is a link to an article with more information: https://share.newsbreak.com/10hc03lf
PwdGuard is still recommending a Password Manger App should be independent App and not part of browser and not use the computer’s operating system function to encrypt your passwords. You also should have a way to turn off the automatic features because they just do not work all the time, especially if you change your password.
By using a more proven way of view your password item and copying it to your computer’s clipboard and then pasting it into the field you want is much safer. This gives you more flexibility to have many passwords for your different Apps making even safer. It only takes an extra minute but could save you hours of trying to put your identity back together.
